Cometic has been known as one of the leaders in high-performance and racing engine gaskets, and with its products in everything from NASCAR Sprint Cup cars to NHRA Pro Stock engines, supercross bikes, dirt cars, and more, the products have unquestionably confirmed they can take any level of abuse.
Cometic unveiled its new MLX ( Multi-Layer Stopper) head gasket for the Dodge Hellcat. As you may know, the new Hellcat engine is equipped with forced inductions. Therefore, the need for a superior gasket to keep the engine sealed under maximum cylinder pressure and boost is high.
“The Multi-Layer Stopper design is something we’ve really been focusing on because all of the applications we’re used to fulfilling are high-horsepower applications,” said Micky Hale, of Cometic Gaskets. “With the MLX gasket, the center layer is folded over back onto itself. This generates an additional stack-up right at the bore and with everything tight, this targets more clamp-load from the bolts to the bore.”
The Cometic gasket has tried this design in multiple different applications. “Anybody with bigger horsepower, needs to look into this new design,” said Hale. “The MLX design gives you better sealing for the forced inductions applications and is used with more durable parts. The gaskets consist of stainless steel construction and a coating that can withstand excessive cylinder pressure.”
We’re looking forward to the on and off-track performance of the new Hellcat gaskets. For more information on Cometic Gaskets, check out their website.
