Get Your All-New First-Gen Yenko Camaro. The Legend Returns

We all know that owning one of the original, first-gen Yenko Camaros is a near impossibility. Let’s face it, they didn’t build many, and current owners are usually not interested in selling them. But, what if we told you there was an option? What if we told you that the famed Yenko moniker is once again adorning the bodies of all-new first-gen Camaros – and you can get one?

The six original Yenko colors, as listed in the Product Brochure, are recommended. But, the customer can request any special color and/or color combination for consideration and approval. GMCI Yenko licensing has to approve everything official that is built and sold to the public.

Thanks to a company called Brand New Muscle Car (BNMC) you can design and order your favorite classic-muscle Camaro hand-built from scratch with an all-new-metal body and parts. They will also work with your original body shell if that’s what you want. The all-new body shells are supplied by R3 Performance Products of Yucca Valley, California. “Their bodies are extra straight, inside and out. They use jigs in all areas, inside and out, up, down, front, back, top, bottom, window openings, etc.,” according to David W. Miller II of BNMC

What’s more, these are official continuation cars, not replicas or clones. They are licensed by General Marketing Capital, Inc. (GMCI), owners of the Yenko brand. We first heard about Continuation Car number sYc-001 from our good friends at Champion Cooling Systems, who happen to be the official cooling source for all Brand New Muscle Car builds, including the Yenko Continuation Cars.”.

A Chassisworks sub-frame will support the chassis.

Under the hood is all-aluminum 427ci ZL1 big-block pushing 550 horsepower and 575 lb./ft. of torque. The engine has been built and tuned by Proformance Unlimited of Melbourne, Florida. The transmission will be a Scoggin-Dickey-supplied Tremec TKO five-speed, and the rearend is a Strange 12-bolt with 3.73 gears. While a legendary big-block will reside in sYc-001, many engine and transmission options will be available for all the official Continuation cars following this one. That means you can choose your drivetrain.

While the original Yenko cars were designed to travel in a straight line, the continuation cars will do that, and so much more. The suspension is comprised of parts from Chris Alston’s Chassisworks, and you’ll find four-wheel disc brakes by Wilwood on each corner. That means these continuation cars will not only go, but will also turn and stop better than ever.

A Chassisworks g-Machine front suspension and g-Link (four-Link) rear suspension with Varishock coilovers will support sYc-001.

How you want your Yenko Continuation car built is up to you. We’re told that customers can have either old-school GM parts on their car, new-school restomod components, or even a combination of both. Customers can design their car within the parameters of the official and approved Yenko-licensed order form and options. Special one-off requests can also be considered. That includes special one-off parts. “We can use other parts and suppliers if the customer requests it, but our official sponsors are the default in each of their areas, and the customers usually let us recommend the supplier of almost all items,” said Miller.

A Strange-built 12-bolt will definitely handle the big-block power.

Inside of sYc-001, you’ll find a standard Black 69′ Camaro Interior from Classic Industries and thermal and sound Insulation by Heatshield Products. In keeping with the Yenko level of quality, all GM Restoration Parts from Classic Industries and OER will be used. The entire build of car sYc-001 is being filmed, start-to-finish for a 13-episode television mini-series on Velocity Channel airing Saturdays mornings later this year to be titled, Brand New Muscle Car: Yenko Camaro.

There is still a lot of work to do, but stay tuned for updates.

Yenko Performance originally offered Camaros, Chevelles, Novas, and more, and now, customers can request other vehicles such as old-school Corvettes, Chevy trucks, etc. Brand New Muscle Cars’ license covers only pre-1981 vehicles.

Be sure to check back often, as we plan to follow along and update you as to how the first car is going together, and even show you some inside happenings that you can only find here. If you want to find out more about these awesome cars and how to get yours, all you need to do is click here!
