PRI 2014: Scoggin-Dickey Parts Center Knows LS and LT Performance

Scoggin-Dickey Parts Center has always been a great source for all things Chevy, especially the full line of components and engines from Chevrolet Performance. Now, with the completion of their race shop, they’ve added the capability to build complete custom engines to your specification.

At this year’s PRI show, we got a look at just a bit of what’s new from SDPC – among the most interesting things on display was a fully ported cylinder head for the direct injection LT1 engine found under the hood of the new Stingray. The head, developed in partnership with a leading professional cylinder head porting company, is being used as a prototype for a CNC program to produce finished parts for inclusion in the SDPC lineup.

Another interesting piece of hardware we saw was an intercooler upgrade set for the LS9 from C&R Performance. The stock intercooler brick can be damaged by increased boost when you downsize the pulley, and the new pieces are specifically designed for modified, high-boost applications.

The set includes both the intercooler cores for the supercharger, and a new high efficiency heat exchanger. No modification to the supercharger is required; it’s a straight replacement for the stock intercooler cores.

We also got a look at their extensive line of single- and double-row timing sets for LS engines from N-Motion. Both 1X and 4X designs are available, and they feature heavy duty roller chains, billet sprockets, a Torrington bearing to protect your block, and 9-key crank gear for easy cam adjustment.
