Many classic cars were supplied with bias ply rubber that was about as wide as a tricycle tire. With that minimal patch of rubber to the pavement, steering was a breeze – even manual steering. If you had power steering, you could just about change lanes by sneezing on the steering wheel.

Adding modern upgrades like bigger wheels and wider tires with manual steering is often going to be difficult when you’re not moving. A good case of Popeye forearms is about the only thing that’s going to help you park that big hunk of Americana when you’re dealing with manual steering.
