Soon most of the rest of the world followed, but American muscle cars remain some of the most popular and sought-after vehicles in nearly every country. But finding more than one or two at a time in some places is a very rare treat.
So imagine stumbling upon an American muscle car graveyard, smack dab in the middle of Taiwan? Unfortuantely, most of these cars are too far gone to be of any restoration value, and the story behind them is more utilitarian than
The Hot Dog Judge, as he calls himself, shared these pictures of a muscle car bumper factory smack dab in the middle of Taipei, Taiwan. He was on a business trip to Taiwan when he went to a lab, and found the bumper factory using these old muscle cars to match up parts for U.S. customers.
There are Camaros, there are Mustangs, there are Darts and Novas and even older American muscle cars, covered in a thin veneer of patina and used solely as tools in a massive bumper-making operation. While not beyond saving, sourcing parts for any of these rides would be difficult/expensive. It’s a shame they had to end up like this, but maybe someday a person with the money and motivation will restore these ex-pats to their former glory.
