Folks, don’t let anyone tell you that all of the muscle cars out there are either bought up, privately held, or only on Craigslist and/or eBay, etc. We know there are still gems to be found in the rough, and this little photo thread we found over at carsinbarns.com is further proof. It documented a trip through a Mopar boneyard out in the hills, and the place was chock full of Chargers, ‘Cudas, Challengers, Satellites, and on and on. There were even a few Mustangs in there, but we assume that was a mistake.
Now, while cars like this are still out there and available, they’re obviously not daily drivers….yet. Up until just a few years ago it was nearly impossible to get repopped sheetmetal for cars like this red ’68 Dodge Charger, but today you have the option of calling up companies like Classic Industries, Year One, and Auto Metal Direct to get everything you’d need to put Humpty Dumpty back together again.
Even better, when you’re starting with a car in this condition you have the ability to go any direction with the build that you wish. No one can give you grief for not sticking to a numbers matching build, and even if they did, who cares? They won’t be the one driving the smokin’ hot Charger. You will.
We’d encourage that all of you who really want a car like this get off your duff and get out there and save one. Look over hill, over dale, and via satellite imagery if you have to. You’ll never regret it, and your car won’t either!
