eBay Find Of The Day: Amazing ’69 Baldwin-Motion Camaro Barn Find

'69 Camaro. But is it a Baldwin-Motion? Images: eBay Motors

When most collectors are in search of ultra-rare, high horsepower, exclusive examples of classic muscle cars, where do they usually turn? Normally live auctions, such as Barrett-Jackson, Russo and Steele, and others. Contributors to the Power TV family are known for spending some of their free time searching for unique eBay finds to share with our readers, and what we have for you is a jaw dropping example.

Offered up for buyers is what could potentially be a ’69 Baldwin-Motion Camaro barn find complete with a 427 BBC, Muncie 4-speed, 12-bolt rear end, and 43 year-old patina.

The seller isn’t 100% sure if it’s the real thing or not as there are absolutely no documents to declare either way. However, if it were a fake, it was clearly put together by someone a long, long time ago who really knew what they were doing, as all Baldwin-Motion pieces are in place.

If you pay attention to the details starting under the hood, the first thing you notice are the vintage set of Motion valve covers, with an ancient APE control box, mesh screen air filter (common on Motion cars), along with other vintage speed parts that were usually found under the hood of the legit versions.

Walking around the Camaro, and you’ll immediately notice the exclusive, fiberglass Stinger hood, side pipes, “427” engine identification tags, “SS” emblems, and what is clearly left of a set of Baldwin-Motion body striping and a black painted rear valance panel, all signs of a legit B-M machine.

Other details include traction bars, a welded rear end, and a Motion differential cover bolted to the pumpkin of the aforementioned 12-bolt, and to top it off, the fuel pump is mounted in the trunk.

Take a peek inside of what one could only imagine would be a musty smelling interior, and you find the original, but rusty-centered wood steering wheel, a hole in the dash where the factory tachometer once lived, and an odometer that claims that only 55,000 miles have passed underneath the old F-body’s chassis.

As of this writing, the current bid is only at $11,300 with a total of 16 bids being made, while the reserve is unknown, it is still unmet. Of course, we could cheat you out of this opportunity by picking it up for ourselves as our next project car, but that would be unfair to you guys, wouldn’t it?
