With the recent $110,000 sale of the first General Lee at the Barrett-Jackson [2] auction last week it’s no wonder that other General Lee’s are popping up everywhere for sale as well. We recently spotted this General over on eBay, only this one is owned by Byron Cherry, the actor who portrayed “Coy Duke” on the Dukes of Hazzard TV series. Cherry had his General listed with a Buy-It-Now price of $145,000 but the auction ended in a no-sale. The highest bid was $140,000, just $5000 short of the required price.

The Charger he had for sale was Cherry’s personal car, and while we can’t say it’s the best General Lee clone that we’ve ever seen, it did come with about a zillion valuable signatures and signed collectables that no other General Lee clone would have.
It’s a 318 powered base model Charger with black interior and is equipped with a console shifted automatic. In addition to the signatures and other Dukes memorabilia that come with the car, the new owner will receive one original “Coy Duke” outfit as well as a phony set of dynamite tipped bow and arrows.
Many Dukes fans will remember that John Schneider and Tom Wopat, who portrayed Bo and Luke Duke, left the series in a dispute over merchandising royalties and were immediately replaced with two new Duke cousins, Coy and Vance. Fans were displeased with the move and 19 episodes later Wopat and Schneider returned, with Coy and Vance never to be mentioned again.

Not only did the buyer get a piece of TV history, but a whole bunch of other memoriabilia.
