Just Over A Week Away: The Daily Driver Fun Run To NSRA Bakersfield

[1]

In addition to our 1954 Chevrolet Bel Air project car, we will be joined by Street Muscle Magazine [2]‘s Project Track Attack. This 1965 Plymouth Belvedere II will be at home with us on the road to Bakersfield.

We’ve found more support and interest in our upcoming Daily Driver Tour  (DDT) than we ever expected. The tour is a fun run from ARP [3] factory headquarters to the 41st Annual NSRA Western Street Rod Nationals in Bakersfield [4], California. The excitement level has been so high that we have designed a logo for the event. This logo will be on the T-Shirts and stickers given to the tour participants.

The official Rod Authority Daily Driver Tour logo. This logo will be on the back of the T-Shirts and on the stickers presented to the tour participants.

We are still looking for rodders that want to accompany the Rod Authority editorial crew from Automotive Racing Products (ARP) factory headquarters in Santa Paula, California, to the Western Street Rod Nationals at the Kern County Fairgrounds in Bakersfield, California.

As a reminder, the cars joining us will be treated to a special behind the scenes factory tour of the ARP manufacturing facility where ARP bolts that are commonly used in building hot rods are made. We’ll experience some cool crusin’ across some classic California highways to our final destination at the NSRA Street Rod Nationals. Car owners that want to participate in the DDT with Rod Authority editors need to let us know who plans on coming by sending a brief email to [email protected] [6].

All vehicles that come out for the DDT tour will receive a car feature in the Rod Authority digital magazine as well as social media coverage of the tour itself. Drivers and passengers will receive a special T-Shirt with the event logo, and a window sticker to commemorate the drive.

[7]

Upon arrival at the fairgrounds, tour drivers that wish to join the NSRA and enter their vehicles into the show will be allowed to register for the event at the host hotel. Those tour drivers that do not want to join the NSRA and the Western Street Rod Nationals at this time, will be given a spectator’s pass to enjoy the show, a DDT tour T-shirt and DDT tour sticker to commemorate the event.

There will also be a variety of activities such as kids and adult games, vintage auto parts Swap Meet, Women’s World/Arts & Crafts Show, a Quilt Show, Saturday evening entertainment, night-time cruisin’, the Cruisin’ with Wings Show, and a non-denominational Church service on Sunday.

[8]

Drivers that join the NSRA and enter into the event are eligible for the NSRA’S own Super Prize Program, where over $75,000.00 worth of merchandise will be given away and last but certainly not least there will be four drawings for $2,000.00 cash. All prizes are courtesy of the National Street Rod Association.
