While most folks reading this article are ‘Vette lovers (as are we), lets admit– there’s nothing really rare or even extremely special about run of the mill Corvettes. It’s what we do to them and how we use them that make them the cars we love, but it’s guaranteed that you’ll come across a rare bird that will test the collector car market as far as value goes.

This morning we just happened to find one of those “diamonds”– one of four Tuxedo Black and Bright Blue 1967 Chevrolet Corvettes [2]. The only black and blue ’67 with this convertible top and side exhaust.

We spotted this beauty on Mecum Auctions [5]‘ website and, as you can see, its gorgeous and has been meticulously maintained. Still housing the original 435 horsepower big-block V8 and original 4-speed transmission, it only has a mere 35,426 original miles. When paired with its 4.11:1 rear end, this choice makes for one of the most sturdy combinations in Corvette history. The perfect untouched body has won countless awards, all while holding a legendary Bloomington Gold Certification.

Yes, this is one of the most desirable color, driveline, and year combinations known in ‘Vette history (and, of course, we sure wouldn’t mind owning it), but that’s not the extent of its great features. Of course, it was completely restored and then modernized with power windows, AM/FM radio, and all the necessary features of vehicles today.

While we are sad that it won’t be ours, whoever ends up with this diamond of a car is one lucky fellow.
