Gateway Motorsports Park in St. Louis is the location for Monster Musclecar Weekend coming up this October, and it promises to be bigger and better this year with a Mopars vs. The World Drag Racing event, new this year to put the fastest Mopars on the track and ask the blue oval and bow tie fans to come get some.
Traditionally an all Mopar event, the gates are opening up on October 1 & 2 for all musclecar fans and owners who want to be a part of this huge weekend event. There will still be a Mopar judged car show, as well as an open field for all makes and models.
Promoters JP Motorsports are also adding four specialty race events to the schedule to celebrate the modern musclecars of today from the Big 3. These are exciting times, and with the level of performance coming from Chevrolet, Ford, and Mopar, it’s going to be a true tale of who’s the best.
The Pony Car Wars will pit Camaro vs. Mustang vs. Challenger for 2006 and newer, with all power-adders welcome and legal in this dial class. The Arrington Performance New Hemi Challenge is open to all modern or Hemi powered vehicles. This year, Monster Musclecar Weekend (MMW) is looking to crown the Fastest Hellcat vehicle, so if you think your Hellcat has what it takes, this is the place for you to put up or shut up.
In keeping with the recent changes we shared at the Las Vegas event, MATS, MMW also aims to bring not only modern musclecars to the venue, but to provide other makes and models to participate is all part of the plan. Promotor Phil Painter knows that today’s modern musclecars have earned a spot in the continuing musclecar wars just like we some some four decades ago. Except this time, Monster Musclecar Weekend says “bring your friends” and enjoy a great weekend of racing, showing, swapping parts, and promoting the hobby that keeps us all entertained.
Registration is open now, so head over to the Monster Musclecar Weekend website and get you and your friends registered and plan for a fun, all musclecar weekend.
