Summit Racing Releases Truck Tech 1967 El Camino Part Combos

[1]

New from Summit Racing [2] – the parts to build your own Truck Tech Identity Crisis 1967 El Camino. The parts are broken down into specific combos to tackle each part of this build. See more details below.

Official Release:

If you were a gearhead in the 1960s and ‘70s, chances are good that your car had a set of Gabriel HiJacker air shocks raising the back end way up high to fit those big L- or N-60 series tires. It was the coolest.

Gabriel celebrated the 50th anniversary of the HiJacker by having PowerNation TV’s Truck Tech build a 1967 El Camino with a groovy period paint job, a 550 horsepower 6.0L LS, and a pair of HiJackers out back. See the build at PowerNation TV.

You can duplicate the build in your garage with these Truck Tech Identity Crisis 1967 Chevy El Camino Parts Combos. It’ll be like building your own Wayback Machine.

Engine Combo
The 6.0L LQ4 was originally built by the boys at PowerNation TV’s Engine Power and made 553 horsepower on the dyno—see the build here. Truck Tech’s Jeremy Bumpus and LT Tolman gathered some parts to get the engine into the El Camino—Hooker and Holley LS swap components, Anchor Industries motor mounts, and a Frostbite aluminum radiator. Jeremy and LT swapped the original Quick Fuel 950 cfm carburetor for a more livable Holley 750 cfm Track Warrior, added an MSD Rev LS ignition box, and built an exhaust using a Magnaflow True-X system.

Chassis Combo
You already know the El Camino has Gabriel HiJacker air shocks out back. LT and Jeremy also added a set of QA1 rear upper and lower trailing arms and Moog coil springs. A set of Rocket Fuel Series wheels are shod with Mickey Thompson rubber to provide that classic rake.

Interior Combo
Jeremy and LT threw an Original Parts Group catalog at the El Camino’s interior. They installed everything from seats, carpet, and a headliner to window and door handles, sill plates, steering wheel, and door panels.

Exterior Combo
When they finished with the interior, Jeremy and LT flipped to the shiny section of the Original Parts Group catalog and got new front and rear bumpers, windshield and rear window molding, bedrail and tailgate molding, and door handles.

Completer Combo
This combo is more like Interior Combo Part 2. It includes an Original Parts Group retrofit AM/FM stereo radio with MP3 and USB flash drive capability, a radio bezel, sunvisors, floor mats, and under-carpet sound deadener.
