Last week, we shared some leaked pictures and the first of a series of videos that Dodge is slowly dropping on the IfYouKnowYouKnow.com website. The car that had everyone talking a little over two years ago is back with a vengeance, and this time the the Hellcat is going to be just a little bit more sinister.
The Dodge Challenger SRT Demon promises to be a car that makes the Hellcat look tame by comparison, and with just a glimpse of the car in the first video we could tell that it was definitely the current generation style of Challenger.
A couple days later, a couple of images were leaked on Instagram showing the full car, and while there are still some questions about the new look, such as the smaller-looking wheels, our sources tell us that these images are indeed the Demon, and that the pics were likely leaked intentionally. Nobody ever said those Dodge boys don’t know how to throw a party!
The second video from the aforementioned website has been dropped, and the video isn’t the only thing that has dropped. Reading just a little bit between the lines, the video implies that we can expect a much lighter Challenger to grace us this time around, showing a graphic where the current model hits the scales at the extreme end, and with some CGI automotive liposuction the car loses some weight and tips the scale at the opposite end.
How much weight the car loses is still a guess, but you can bet with the additional ponies under the hood and a reduction in overall mass, the new Demon will have the Ford and Chevy guys scrambling for something else to pick on.
There’s no doubt that the introduction of the Hellcat brought about a bit of animosity, and almost immediately the Hellcat was nicknamed the “fat cat.” But none of that stopped Dodge from coming back with a vengeance, and now we’re seeing the second wave of Hellcatness hit the information superhighway. Sticks and stones, people, sticks and stones.
