As the Pro Touring style of custom car culture has taken hold in the last couple of years, we’re seeing more and more cars built with completely modern powerplants and drivelines, complete with computerized engine management and electronically-controlled transmissions. And if you were the Mopar nut with the unlimited checkbook and a vision of the musclecar of your dreams, wouldn’t you build it?
The original owner built his perspective of the perfect Plymouth Pro Tourer, which includes an amped-up new-gen 6.1L HEMI engine from Bouchillon Performance Engineering that makes 500 horsepower and 460 lb./ft. of torque. The car has been resto-modded to perfection, including a number of unique details like a ’72 Road Runner grille combined with a tucked ’71 Road Runner bumper, shaved body panels and plenty more custom touches throughout.
Underneath the front, a fully-customized suspension has control arms from Magnumforce and Mancini, along with two-inch drop spindles and a set of Aldan coil-over shocks, while the rear has a Reilly Motorsports triangulated four-link and QA1 coil-overs. Wilwood brakes all around reside within a set of custom Boze Alloy wheels with 18-inch front and 20-inch rear Yokohama rubber.
The interior has been completely retooled with a sweet set of bucket seats and looks ready to hold you and your best road-trippin’ buddy on the next Power Tour or cruise to the local donut hole. The question becomes whether your wallet is deep enough to swallow the buy-it-now price.
If you’ve ever seen a car of this caliber up close and personal, you’ll understand why it’s priced accordingly, and probably at a lower price than the final bill from the shop to the current owner. In a perfect world, there would be $99,900 burning a hole in our pocket right now to own this car.
