[1]It takes a special kind of crazy to pay upwards of $60,000 for a 707 horsepower Dodge Charger Hellcat, and we mean that in a good way. Not everybody has the ability to so much as sit behind the wheel of a Hellcat, nevermind smashing the accelerator and literally launching yourself from 0 to 60 MPH faster than almost any other gas-powered sedan on the planet.
But there’s always a way to wring more power from just about any engine, and the gearheads at Hennessey Performance Engineering are paid to do exactly that. So we can’t say we’re surprised that Hennessey has released two new performance packages for the Charger Hellcat, but is the bump from 707 to as much as 852 horsepower really worth it?
Some of you out there are assuredly saying yes, and HPE knows that there’s always somebody out there demanding more performance, speed, or power from some of the world’s fastest cars. Thus HPE engineers have created two packagers for the Charger Hellcat, the HPE800 with an estimated 805 crank horsepower, and the HPE850 package nominally rated at 852 ponies.

Both packages benefit from the same assortment of upgrades, including a new ECU with fresh performance software, high-flow air filter, a lower pulley upgrade, and badging so your friends know it’s an authentic Hennessey. You’ll also shave as much as a half-second off the 0 to 60 MPH time.
Here’s the thing though: it won’t stop here. Oh no, not by a long shot. We’re fairly certain that a 1,000 horsepower HPE1000 package for the Charger and Challenger Hellcats is in the works, very well giving the fiery kitten the power needed to push past the competition, and into legendary territory.
