Back in November of 2014, we were perusing the SEMA show, and found a truck so cool, we had to show you guys. The truck was built by husband and wife team of Bob and Brandy Phillips to compete in the Optima Ultimate Street Car Invitational.
The truck is powered by a 585 horsepower LS engine with performance enhancers like Trick Flow heads, Holley EFI and modular LS intake, Hooker headers, Magnaflow exhaust and a 102 mm throttle and cold air kit from Spectre. Under the truck is a DSE front suspension and PCHRODS rear suspension that are controlled by a set of AFCO double adjustable shocks and Hotchkis sway bars.
The LS is moved rearward about 10-inches, and is backed by a Viper T56 six-speed transmission, with a Centerforce DYAD clutch system.
Finally, a Currie rearend delivers the power to the wheels, and six-piston Baer brakes with 14-inch rotors make it “whoa.” The exterior eye candy wheels are Boze Alloy 18×12-inch wheels that are wrapped with BFGoodrich KDW tires measuring 335/30R18.
Although Brandy can now haul the mail—and anything else for that matter, one of her prior rides was a ’70 Camaro that is capable of blistering any track.
Well, the truck is on the road, and we thought that you guys might like to see it in action–sure, it’s legal. It’s hard to believe that a vehicle with the aerodynamics of a vending machine can ever be considered a “performance” vehicle, but watch this video, and decide for yourself.
