[1]For the last few years, My Classic Garage [2] has given away a stellar muscle car built by their experts, including the 1970 HEMI ‘Cuda [3] that found its way to one lucky winner’s garage in Washington late last year. But as we announced [4] late last month, this year’s Giveaway Car came with a twist- a chance for you to vote for the car the company builds. Well, the votes are in and although it looks to have been quite the tight race, the ’67 Mustang Fastback is the 2014 MCG Giveaway Car [5]!
With the votes coming down to a ’69 Camaro, ’67 Mustang or a ’68 Coronet, the My Classic Garage Giveaway Car has been deemed the classic pony by enthusiasts.
[6]With a car this stellar, we can’t wait to see what the crew at My Classic Garage comes up with for the build options on the 2014 Giveaway Car!
Not surprisingly, the vote was close on all three cars, with the Mustang winning by just 4 percent of the votes. Coming in second, with 33 percent of the votes was the Camaro, followed by the Coronet with 30 percent of the votes. Though some people are expressing their disappointment that the Mopar wasn’t a top-runner, enthusiasts on the site seem to be getting behind the Mustang project overall.
Now just because the initial round of voting is over doesn’t mean that you can’t still get involved.
In addition to registering for your chance to win the Mustang, you can also be part of the decision-making process for how the classic pony car is going to be built.
With industry-leading designers on the case, the next round of voting started on Thursday, March 13th. This time around, it looks to be like a decision between a handful of unique build styles, from restomod to a “back to basics” restoration.
