TorqStorm will give away a centrifugal supercharger kit at both Holley LS Fest events – held May 4-6 in Las Vegas, Nevada, and September 7-9 in Bowling Green, Kentucky – to participants with the best reaction time and deviation from dial-in, competing in the Rumble Index Class.
All of the races will be regulated by a .500 Pro Tree and in an index format. Indexes will be on .25 breaks with Elapsed Times of 11.00 – 15.00 seconds. Additionally, this will be an “all run” qualifying format. The winners will be able to select any TorqStorm model currently available.
According to TorqStorm, their billet aluminum centrifugal superchargers increase a stock power output by an average of 40-percent. TorqStorm says this is made possible by a revised configuration of the compressor wheel that allows the supercharger to initiate its boost range around 1,850 rpm carrying it to 6,500.
The gearbox and bearing housing are constructed from 6061-T6 billet aluminum alloy which makes it capable of supporting over 700 horsepower. The turbo-style V-band clamp on the compressor cover allows the compressor outlet port to be rotated 360 degrees with an easy route for boosted air to flow into the bonnet or intercooler.
The Rumble Index Class is open to any vehicle, including late-model Camaros, C7 Corvettes, or any full-bodied vehicle powered by a GM LS-style, or current generation LT, power plant. Participating vehicles are required to be of stock appearance and with a stock body though noted that rental cars are prohibited.
Other stipulations list that all vehicles pass the NHRA and IHRA safety inspection and that they must be driven to staging and to scales. Trans brake mechanisms are prohibited as well as dragsters, roadsters and modified cars.
