As children of the ’80’s it’s hard for us to still not become giddy at the thought of driving and owning a real movie car, and perhaps this Back To The Future clone will be just our ticket! While the sticker on this car is set at $65,000, considering the fact that the “real” cars from the movies bring nearly 6-figures at most auctions, we’re considering this baby a steal.
This particular car was built by Bob’s Prop Shop in Dallas, Texas and started out life as an ’81 DMC-12 with the standard stainless steel exterior, black interior, and automatic transmission. While the move cars had gray interior and were portrayed as manual transmission cars, we’ll forgive Bob for these oversights due to the outstanding qualify of the replica itself.
Absolutely everything about the car is correct from the Mr. Fusion on the tail to the flux capacitor between the seats. This car has just 30,000 miles on it and has had all of the mechanical updates done so its ready for the next charge to 88 MPH!
Though this car did not actually see screen time in the BTTF movies, it has been on TV multiple times. At Universal Studio’s request it was used as a TV promotional car with the BTTF Blu-Ray disc series was released, and it was also showcased on the Discovery Channel Show, Auction Kings.
