Video: The 1,200 Horsepower Twin-Turbo Viper From Racing Solutions

While the all-new SRT Viper has met with a tepid response from exotic car buyers, the previous-generation Viper is still enjoying its celebrity status as an all-American supercar. There are plenty of upgrade and performance kit options, offering everything from better fuel economy (like that matters to a Viper owner) to twin-turbo kits that more than double the stock output of a last-gen Viper.

Don’t believe us? Just take a look at Racing Solutions Inc’s 1,200 horsepower twin-turbo package [1] for 2008 to 2010 Dodge Vipers, which turns an already wicked ride and raises it up to legendary status. And somehow, some way, it’s still street legal.

Everything about the RSI twin-turbo package for 2008-10 Vipers is new in regards to the drivetrain, including a massive 528 cubic-inch stroker kit that adds all new internals, bearings, and what have you. After all, not even the Viper’s hardy stock crankshaft can handle 1,350 horsepower, which is the maximum output on E85 or racing fuel. On this dyno run though the Viper makes just 1,200 horsepower.

Even just on 93 octane pump gas, the two 67 mm turbochargers make a massive 1,000+ horsepower to the wheels, allowing this monster to devastate just about every other ride out there. The package isn’t cheap, with prices starting at just under $75,000 (on top of the cost of the Viper), but also gives you the choice to add options like a new RSI-spec transmission and upgraded axles. If you’re going to go this far, might as well go all the way, right?
