Of course, the movie debuted in 1979, and since then the film industry has spawned more insane vehicles, but the Mad Max cars were truly one-of-a-kind at that time. In fact, Mad Max became such a hit that two more installments were made in the series, and there’s a fourth currently in production today, over 30 years later.

Although this car is not the original film machine, it’s a replica that appears to have been executed to the highest standards, at least as far as we can see by comparing the car’s lines to a couple of photos we found of the original car. The huge price tag converts to nearly $125,000 in today’s dollars, but if you’re that much of a Mel fan, the pricetag might not matter to you. Ante up!
