In its first few years of production, Ford sold about as many Mustangs as it could make. Literally millions of classic Mustangs rolled off of assembly lines from April of 1964 well into 1972, and many of these cars met sad, inglorious ends. Some rotted away in fields, others hacked to bits for their parts, and still others remained perpetual project cars, forgotten about under piles of stuff in some garage somewhere.

That is the sad story is this next Mustang, as documented by YouTuber farmboy86fox. He was enlisted by a neighbor to pull her old, unloved ‘69 Mustang out of a garage, and to hear him tell it this old piece of American iron still runs all these years later.

Unfortunately, the video does not include any actual footage of this neglected Mustang running, though farmboy believes it to be it to be a 351 Cobra Jet engine. He says the lady parked it there in 1969, and he saw it running not that long ago. There is also evidence of a vinyl top, and the original orange paint job appears amazingly intact. Alas, it is an automatic transmission, and the condition is…less than great.

Still, the whole Mustang is there, and farmboy hopes to free up three of the four frozen drum brakes and, eventually, restore it. Just getting that Mustang out of the garage took some determination we imagine, and we wish him the best of luck. That said, the owner of the Mustang still seems rather attached, demanding $10,000 for the unrestored project. That’s a bit optimistic for the state of this car, don’t you think?
