#67in67: Charity Project Car to Debut at CAS

During the 67 days leading up to the second annual Classic Auto Show, held March 2-4 at the Los Angeles Convention Center, a 1967 Chevrolet Camaro will be built by Jeff Allen, host of the Skidmarks Show podcast, and his team at Flat 12 Gallery. Upon completion, the Camaro will be raffled for charity with ticket sale proceeds benefiting the Ronald McDonald House.

A unique aspect of the build is that it gives showgoers and fans a chance to be involved with the project. On the Classic Auto Show’s social media channels, the fans can vote on build options as well as make suggestions and recommendations of their own.

“When we build this baby back up, it’s going to be one mean machine,” Allen said. “I didn’t want it to just be another good-looking Camaro, I wanted it to be an awesome driver as well.”

“Having the opportunity to document and interact with the build and our fans along the way has only increased curiosity about the finished product,” said Michael Carlucci, senior vice president at Clarion UX, the show’s producer.

“Jeff, his team at Flat 12 Gallery and all our sponsors are working around the clock to finish this car in time,” he added.  

Sponsors of the project car include AkzoNobel for paint, parts provided by Classic Industries, Baer Brakes, Hotchkis Suspension, Black Widow Exhaust, and Rocket Wheels.

Additionally, the car was sourced via ClassicCars.com, transported by Intercity Lines, insured by Hagerty, and cleaned by Tub O’ Towels.
