SEMA 2018: Dakota Digital Creates Retro-Looking Modern Gauges

Customization can be done many ways. For some, a total transformation from a stock appearance is required. Yet, others want what they modify to appear stock, but not actually be stock. Dakota Digital has long been known to deliver high-quality products that upgrade classic cars and not look stock, but now it has developed the Retrotech gauges that keep it simple but upgraded.

“The Retrotech series is designed to look like a factory-gauge package, but the reality is, when you hit the key, everything springs to life,” says Scott Johnson of Dakota Digital. “When the switch is on, in many cases, you have gauges that are hidden, but available. Plus, you have adjustability in terms of gauge colors and range.”

Retrotech gauges look as close to stock-appearing as you can get while enjoying modern conveniences.

At a quick glance, you might think these are restored, original gauges, but twist the key, and all bets are off. Retrotech gauges as close to stock-appearing as you can get while enjoying color-changing LED backlighting, dual TFT message centers, and of course, late-model drivetrain compatibility.

The Retrotech series is the latest from Dakota Digital, focused on retaining that stock look without sacrificing the late-model features you love. Every effort has been put forth to incorporate OE-design elements regarding the layout, face styling, and indicators.

CNC-machined housings are filled with electronics designed and built in-house, and the high-definition TFT message centers can be fully configured to display just about any piece of information needed. As you’ve come to expect from Dakota Digital, the Retrotech series utilizes a central control box to make installation and setup as easy as possible.
