SEMA 2015: DeatschWerks Latest High-Horsepower Fuel System Solutions

Supporting upwards of 1,000 horsepower is not an easy task as factory fuel components were designed to only send so much fuel at once. How, then, can enthusiasts meet the demand for more fuel?

DeatschWerks takes the guesswork out of how to supply your vehicle with enough fuel, with its new Modular surge tanks and DWR1000 fuel pressure regulator.

Chris Mills from DeatschWerks explains how the company’s surge tanks are capable of supporting higher-than-stock horsepower levels, “A lot of enthusiasts want a complete fuel system package, not a piece-by-piece. We’ve engineered a great fuel pressure regulator and 2.5-liter to 3.5-liter modular surge tank. Both of which will support more than 1,000 horsepower. The idea behind both components is to provide adjustability and a smooth engagement. This sets the stage for an OEM-like drivability, while maintaining the ability to support forced-induction applications at higher-horsepower levels.”

Features of the DRW1000 fuel pressure regulator include:

  • Ball-bearing adjustment allows for smooth and accurate adjustments in fuel pressure
  • Anodized stainless-steel construction to provide a long-lasting barrier against corrosion
  • 45 mm diaphragm creates a larger surface area for smoother on/off throttle response
  • Dual inlets to maximize custom plumbing options
  • Multi-positional mounting bracket allows for endless mounting locations

Features of the Modular surge tank include:

  • Modular design can accommodate up to two DW350iL fuel pumps
  • Ability to support up to 1,200 horsepower on 3.5 liter surge tank model
  • Hard-anodized to support use of E85 fuel
  • Reduces ambient noise of fuel pump operation for OEM drivability
  • Includes all mounting and hardware accessories for either vertical or horizontal mounting location
  • Drop-in fitment standard for DeatschWerks fuel pumps

“Everything is compatible with E85 fuel, as that’s an extremely popular fuel choice,” Mills says. “The surge tanks help tremendously with what’s commonly referred to as fuel-slosh, which is experienced during drag racing or road racing events, any time the car is under hard g-force conditions. For a bolt-in, 1,200 horsepower fuel package, this is as easy as it gets.”
