Known in large part for a huge range of cylinder head applications, Edelbrock once again delivers with the new Performer RPM cylinder heads for the 5.7L, 6.1L, 6.2L, and 6.4L Gen III Hemi engines. “We saw a big vacuum in the market where no one was making cylinder heads for the Gen III Hemi. We stepped up to the challenge and built our Performer RPM heads for the Gen III Hemi,” says Edelbrock’s August Cederstrand. “These cylinder heads are a direct bolt-on replacement, but a Performer-RPM-level head.”
Made from A365 aluminum like all of Edelbrock’s cylinder heads, the Performer RPM heads come complete with 2.165-inch intake, 1.650-inch exhaust valves, hardened valve seats, bronze valve guides, and conical beehive-style valvesprings.
They feature fully-CNC-machined chambers in 67cc, 73cc and 83cc volumes, along with profiled bowls and entries. The 202cc intake runner flows 337 cfm at .700-inch lift, and the 75cc exhaust ports flow 222 cfm at .700-inch lift. “For those who want a little more, we left .220-inches of wall thickness on the runner walls, floors, and ceilings on both the intake and exhaust ports, so there’s plenty of room to grow,” adds Cederstrand.
Another innovative feature of these heads is that they are not directional, like OEM Gen III Hemi heads, thanks to the dual exhaust bolt patterns. “Out of the box, these heads are dead-even, if not a little better than the Apache cylinder head that comes on the SRT-8,” Cederstrand says. “However, unlike the Apache heads, these will fit on the 5.7-liter engines, because we tipped the valve just a little bit, but all your stock components will still bolt right up to these heads.”
