Lokar, a company well known for their aftermarket cable kits, has come up with a new twist on an old look with their vintage series cables.
“We saw that people were using vintage series spark plug wires and wanted to offer enthusiasts and builders another option for throttle cables,” said Lokar’s Brian Downard. “These vintage series throttle cables allow the builder to maintain a theme in the engine compartment, which is extremely important to those enthusiasts that want to maximize a certain look.”
The throttle cables are covered with a vintage braided cover, which incorporates a protective layer in the covering. The cables come complete with aluminum fittings and ferrules for easy and trouble-free installation. Included is an outer housing with a specially extruded liner for extended life of the stainless steel inner wire.
“These are a ‘U-Cut-to-Fit’ housing and inner wire, so they are very customizable,” said Downard. “They can be adapted to fit almost every aftermarket and some factory cable operated throttle pedals.” Lokar offers these kits with a lifetime warranty, and they are “made in the USA,” according to Downard.
While we were at the Lokar booth, we overheard the Lokar marketing team telling another visitor to the booth that they had plans on creating more vintage series components featuring the braided cloth covering. They expect to hit the market with a dip stick covered with the same covering early next year. But that is a secret and we can’t let that get around too early.
