If you want to bring modern handling characteristics and adjustability to your classic GM muscle car, SPC Performance is releasing a great control arm for the ’67 through ’72 A-body, first- and second-gen F-bodies, and the G-body. The patented design of this fully adjustable upper control arm will afford you the most adjustability and clearance of any control arm on the market.
They’re sold in pairs, and feature fully rebuildable ball joints with either stock length or 1/2-inch taller than stock studs to improve the camber curve. Add a little more caster via the adjustable links, and you have a true, modern-feeling suspension. The ball joints are fully greaseable and rebuildable.
“You will have more clearance than with a stock arm, because we ‘raked’ it a little more,” says Vicki Wheeler of SPC. “It also comes with different ball joint stud lengths. If you’re lowering your car and need a longer stud, it’s available.”
If you’re looking to add more caster to your hot rod, these arms will allow for 6 degrees of change. The adjustability of the turnbuckles eliminates the need for alignment shims, and that creates a more infinitely adjustable front suspension geometry. The control arms come with either a Delrin, rubber, or polyurethane bushings, so you can tailor your ride.
