It’s no secret that one of our favorite Mustangs of all time is the Boss 302 and Boss 429 variants. And, when we came across the gold mine of Boss Mustangs headed to the Mecum Auctions in Indianapolis, Indiana, from May 16-21, we just had to share them with you Checkout this list of iconic machines for sale:
1. 2014 Ford Mustang Boss 302S
This particular example is number 18 out of 50 produced total. It’s also a “one-owner car in the one-year-only color of Grabber Blue,” according to the original ad. This Boss 302S will be sold on a bill of sale, for those of you wondering.
2. 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 302
Believed to have less than 51,000 original miles, this ’70 Boss 302 received a comprehensive restoration back in the ’90s, and it is “an early production car with a build date of September 1969,” according to its original ad.
3. 1969 Mercury Cougar Boss 302 Eliminator
We all know that this Cougar is one of the rarest Blue Oval muscle cars of all-time, thanks to its limited production and its use of the Boss 302 cubic-inch V8. Only 169 came with the Boss 302 engine, and this Cougar had a mechanical restoration completed in 2014.
4. 1969 Ford Mustang Boss 429
Old school Blue Oval fans are well aware that Ford built only 857 Boss 429s in 1969, and this example is finished in Wimbledon White and is KK number 1853. It’s believed to have only 33,000 original miles, and was once part of the Ed Nordland collection.
5. 1971 Ford Mustang Boss 351
With only 51,000 original miles, this Boss 351 was the personal car of MCA Judge Bob Wilson, and was “concours restored to MCA Trailer Gold standards in 1999 at RJ Restorations in Farmington, Minnesota,” according the ad.
6. 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429
If you’re looking for one of the rarest Boss 429 Mustangs ever, you’ve found it. Finished in one of your author’s favorite Ford hues ever, Pastel Blue, this ’70 example is 1 of 18 produced in that color and year, and is KK number 2241. Did we mention it just received a complete restoration, too?
7. 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 302
Another Boss 302 on our list is this ’70 example, which was professionally restored by National Award Winner Nyle Wing. It features a numbers-matching 302 engine and a rare “Medium Red” exterior hue.
8. 1969 Ford Mustang Boss 429
Last but not least is the final Boss 429 on the list. Another Wimbledon White example, this Mustang is KK number 1746, and received a “13-year, concours-style restoration using mostly original and NOS parts. It also features a numbers-matching 429 engine restored by Marion Performance Racing Engines in Marion, Arkansas, and the original Holley carburetor was restored by Pony Carburetors.
