Excuse us as we get back to reality here.
If you’re into vintage ‘Vettes like us, then Mecum’s upcoming auction in Chicago is going to have quite a bit of eye candy for you.
The event is two weeks from now (October 25th through 27th) and is currently showcasing ten beautiful cars online from a private collection – nine of which are Chevy Corvettes from the sixties and seventies.
The plethora of C2s and C3s are enough to drool over for hours – don’t get us wrong – but the one first-gen C1 definitely caught our eye.
With the classic Honduras Maroon colored exterior paint and the car completely untouched, this thing is sure to go for big bucks later this month. It packing a 327/340-horse engine under the hood, paired with a 4-speed transmission, and comes with an included hardtop and soft top.
But, the split window just looks like something straight out of a movie. There’s nothing not to love – It’s notched rear end brings along some major nostalgic vibes, but its bright candy apple red interior totally hypes things up.
Its exterior paint, dubbed Riverside Red, is in completely mint condition and under the hood, it has a numbers-matching 327 making more than 300 horsepower.
