It won’t be long before we are back into our summer antics. A month or so into the summer this year though, you should get your car out to the Port of LA in San Pedro, California for the Port Nationals Kustom Rods and Bobbers show on July 18, 2015.
The Port Nationals is expected to be an incredible show. Hosted by the Dead Sleds Car Club, the show is open to pre-1973 kustoms, rat rods, hot rods, street rods, trucks, and bobber motorcycles. Situated right on the edge of the water, show goers will be able to take a tour of the S.S. Lane Victory. The war cargo ship was used throughout World War II to deliver munitions, supplies, and troops. The ship is now a mobile Memorial Museum. Visitors can check out a large portion of the ship as well as two built in museums dedicated to the citizen and naval troops lost at sea.
Attached to this amazing show will be the largest pinup girl contest on the West Coast. Expected to bring in tons of beautiful women, the pinup contest is a must see. Many sponsors have signed on for the event including Badfish Clothing Company, Deluxe Sunglasses, and Wide White Kustoms. The whole show will be loaded with vendors, food, live rockabilly bands, and the Kulture Art Exhibit. The special exhibit is going to be hosted by Mr. Rhythm Pinstriping and is open for artists who “fit the bill of Kustom Kulture Art.” Mike Donner Pinstriping is hosting a silent auction to help raise money for the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles and the San Pedro Varsity Girls Softball Team & San Pedro High School Softball Field.
