The second running of the Speed by Spectre 341 Challenge is fast approaching and only a few entry spots remain open. Building on the highly successful premiere event last year, many of last year’s participants are returning to better their times.
Set for June 17-19 and open to all street legal, high-performance vehicles, the Speed by Spectre 341 Challenge is a hill climbing road race over one of the most challenging mountain roads in the world – Nevada Highway 341. Defending champion, Lou Gigliotti, will return and likely face a range of exotic hardware, from a brand new 2012 Nissan GT-R, to a Ferrari California and a ’55 Chevy riding on a Corvette Chassis.
“This is one of the only events in the world where a driver can show up with a street car and truly test the vehicle and themselves in a real-world environment,” explained Spectre Performance founder Amir Rosenbaum. “This is more than a race – it’s a life-changing adventure.”
Set amidst the old-west mining town of Virginia City, the event includes a track talk, warm up laps, class qualifying, a car show and parade through the mining town, two days of racing and a banquet for all participants. The highway is shut off to the public during the event, in coordination with local agencies.
