Nowicki Autosport C8 Adds Greatness To Mid-Engine Corvette

Jeff Nowicki, a 5-time SCCA World Challenge Champion driver & former GM designer has been improving the performance of GM vehicles since the early ‘90s. He began driving in SCCA autocross events and eventually for various teams, beginning in IMSA’s Firestone Firehawk Series. He found his way into Corvettes at the wheel of Tommy Morrison’s ZR1s, which competed in the 24 Hours of Daytona in the World Challenge Series.

Jeff has remained close to his Corvette roots and his expertise as a former GM Design sculptor enabled him to continue to mold his thoughts on design and styling improvements into clay models for all to see. Jeff focused on upgrading C5- and C6-based Corvettes through his company Specter Werkes/Sports. Jeff sold the company in 2010 and has since formed Nowicki Autosport/Design.

It didn’t take long for Jeff and the team at NAD to turn their efforts to the mid-engine Corvette. The company began churning out carbon fiber components designed to improve the car’s performance both on the track, and the show field. Their latest rolling business card is called the “Concept 8” which features a catalog of Nowicki-supplied parts.

Starting out as a standard Blade Silver 2020 Corvette Stingray, the car was quickly widened, enhanced, and upgraded with the intent to make it stand out and get out in front. Carbon fiber is widely accepted as the best way to click both “show” and “go” boxes consecutively, and the NAD Concept 8 uses the ultra-lightweight material to good effect.

A splash of fiber weave accents the silver paint. The Concept 8 logo lets you know where it all came from.

A carbon splitter runs across the car’s bow, accentuated by a searing red stripe. Other carbon bits adorn the car’s roofline, camera bezel, side openings, and rear fascia area. Airflow is also constructively adjusted with the carbon-based rear wing featuring end plates for accentuation. As you peer into the engine bay, a Concept 8 engine cover also wears that woven look. Other modifications which don’t rely on the carbon fiber wow factor are the fender flares which allow for massive Michelin PS4S 355/25-series R21 tires out back, 285/25-sized 20-inchers up front. But those Forgeline wheels do have a splash of carbon to keep the strong yet lightweight theme.

Those massive Michelins wind around a set of Forglines, which have also been adorned with carbon fiber.

A racer at heart, Jeff made sure that the company’s show car also had the sound to back up the bodywork. A set of American Racing Headers designed specifically for the C8 Corvette was combined with an ARH cat-back exhaust. Knowing that running hard is at the heart of the C8, NAD included covering the entire exhaust with Design Engineering’s heat-control wrap to lower temps. The company is also adding Hotchkis Sport Suspension adjustable stabilizing bars to help straighten out the corners at speed.

The engine has been treated with ARH headers both before and aft of the cats. DEI Inc's. heat insulating wrap keeps temps at bay in the engine bay.

The Nowicki Autosports/Design additions look right at home with the C8’s cutting-edge, and edgy design. We think they look great at every angle and the additions are sure to bring a smile to your face each time you open the garage door. You may even need to build a bigger trophy shelf, but that’s not the main reason we’d love to have one in our garage!
