Everyone that knows of Barrett Jackson knows that it is an extremely high-end event, but not only do the rich and famous attend to purchase cars, but also to sell them– filling the docket with badass builds and, of course, some hefty price-tags.
This last Barrett Jackson event, in Scottsdale, Arizona, was one of the largest of the year, with big names in attendance such as Justin Bieber, Floyd Mayweather, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Burt Reynolds, and our favorite: NASCAR Hall of Famer, Rusty Wallace.
While Rusty is a regular at Barrett Jackson events, this time he was actually attending alongside two cars he built– a personally-designed 900 horsepower Ford Fusion NASCAR Spring Cup car and his personal car, a gorgeous 1978 Chevrolet Corvette.
His Corvette was a 25th Anniversary Edition and was a one-owner car, completely restored, and, as you can tell from the photos, absolutely immaculate. Under the hood: a 450 horsepower ZZ383 engine, built and tuned by the legendary Doug Yates, owner of Roush-Yates Engines. Its stealthy yet classy paint job, Forgeline wheels, SSBC brakes, and a long list of modern amenities bring the classic car into the modern era and ultimately bring the entire car together.
At the event, Rusty drove the car onto the auction block and told the crowd “It’s got a ton of power, it runs beautifully, [and] it’s a fantastic car.” Rusty’s ‘Vette caught our eye and obviously someone else’s too. In the end, it ended up selling for a whopping $110,000.
