If you’re into road course action, you’ve certainly been keeping up with the Trans Am TA3 American Muscle series this year. With just three races left in the season, everyone is gunning for the top position and our friends over at Tremec are supporting one team in particular.
The Total Performance Racing (TPR) team has been hot on the tails of its competition all year, working with new performance and handling products to make significant gains on the track. This strategy has paid off as the team is going into the last three races in third place in overall points standings after their win at Brainerd International Raceway on August 31st and three other podium finishes, like their win at Road Atlanta back in June.
The TPR team is racing a fifth-generation Camaro upgraded with class-acceptable performance products, including a Tremec Magnum XL 6-speed transmission.
Going into their ninth race of the season, which will happen at Lime Rock Park in Connecticut Saturday, September 20th, the TPR team, headed by Todd Napieralski, is sitting at 181 points. Chuck Cassaro and his modern Mustang sit at 196 points, with Ernie Francis Jr. and his Camaro leading the class with 213 points.
The TPR team may have their work cut out for them in a run for the class title this year, but they are more than determined to go all the way. The team has worked incredibly hard and it really seems to be paying off for us,” driver, Todd Napieralski told Tremec. “We’re going to need a strong finish to the season in order to pull it off, but we’re within striking distance—and we’re very motivated.”
Tremec has been sponsoring the TPR team all season and remains in their corner going into the last stretch. We wish TPR the best of luck in the rest of their Trans Am TA3 American Muscle races this season!
