Video: Aeromotives Phantom Stealth In-Tank Fuel System

stealth01One name that is heard a lot in the world of motorsports is Aeromotive. From three generations of tried and true performance enthusiasts, the questions about how to make fuel delivery products better and reliable have been asked and continue to be answered. Whether it’s on the track, on the street, or even at a show, they pride themselves on learning through experience and being a big part of the industry that they love.

For many classic musclecar owners, their limitations have been mechanical or inline electrical fuel pumps, and while these systems have been a common component of a typical musclecar fuel system, the inherent problems that can exist from these systems has had enthusiasts under their hood – or under their car – for decades.

A better design for fuel systems for these cars lies in the systems that we see today in many modern musclecars: an in-tank fuel pump. In-tank fuel pumps run cooler, which helps them to last longer than an inline pump. They are submersed in fuel, so there aren’t issues of fuel starvation on hard launches, or the fuel slosh from running the autocross course.

A carburetor stores some fuel, but your pump needs to be able to deliver that fuel when it’s needed most, and if fuel is sloshing in the tank, you know it by the way your fuel gauge is reading inaccurately every time you brake, accelerate, or corner. So you can either build yourself a custom fuel tank, or you can install an in-tank fuel pump like Aeromotive’s Phantom 200 and Phantom 340 Stealth fuel systems.

These pumps, as highlighted on Aeromotive’s updated web page, can be custom installed in your existing classic car fuel tank, and the kits include everything you need to get a pump in the tank, and to avoid the dreaded fuel sloshing. Check out their updated pages, complete with videos, installation instructions, and full diagrams showing how to route your fuel lines.

Whether your car is carbureted or fuel injected, Aeromotive has a Phantom Stealth fuel system that can support your needs – all the way up to 1000 horsepower. Check out the Aeromotive web site for information and all of their products, from fittings to fuel tanks, and everything that mounts in between.
