Someone in San Francisco recently checked off a bucket list item: To do a series of donuts on the historic Golden Gate Bridge and then speed away in to the sunset.
“You can see that the vehicle is spinning within inches of a guardrail where there are tourists,” Officer Andrew Barclay told the San Francisco Chronicle. “It put a lot of people at risk unnecessarily.”
Sometimes we come across stories like this and ask ourselves, how did this not get more national attention then it did? Almost a month ago now, some brave Camaro driver decided to stop traffic (in both directions none the less) on the iconic Golden Gate Bridge to do a few donuts. You can watch the video below.
Kary Witt, a bridge manager considers this a very serious crime, “A lot of dumb things happen on the bridge, but not this,” Kary told the Chronicle. “The margin for error out here is pretty small. It’s really kind of shocking when you see people behaving this way.”
Shocking… eh… OK, sure. And in no way are we condoning this behavior, but as a car guy, this is one hell of a story have. How many people can say they did some awesome donuts on the Golden Gate bridge that actually stopped traffic both directions? It got us thinking, where is the craziest place you have opened up your engine and done a set of donuts at? Leave us a comment below with your best story!
