With the aftermarket, you’re bound to see something new and refreshing. Beautifully shot parts can only go so far and while reading about them being getting installed helps, actually seeing them in action is where it counts. While we don’t always do news features on off-road vehicles or products, we couldn’t help but showcase the ever-adventurous Alex Sanders out of Salem, Arkansas.
While to muscle car guys, Alex may not be any wonder boy, put him in a four wheel drive vehicle and he’ll win. So much in fact, Sanders won the amazingly-tough, 2011 Four Wheeler Magazine Top Truck Challenge. Of course, that’s not why we’re featuring this video. Sanders doesn’t take kindly to mud, logs, the back country or even waist deep water either. He dominates, literally.
Getting the job done of course requires more than a set of trained eyes to avoid obstacles, a swift hand to steer or 46-inch bogger tires to roll into the winners circle. For Alex Sanders it also means competing with a rig that will start, run and keep running; even in unavoidable situations like a river. Yeah, a river. Sanders’ rig isn’t just powered by a super-reliable 350ci small-block, it’s also fueled by MSD’s Atomic EFI system, which literally allows the bogger to run full throttle without a hiccup through even the most demanding obstacles. And, by the looks of this featured video, works really well even mixed with a heavy sloshing of H20.
