It is not unusual to find the new Mustang 5.0-liter engine in other vehicles, especially older generation Mustang owners. Installing a new Coyote 5.0-liter could double the power they would have put down otherwise with simple bolt on modifications, plus it’s pretty simple with Ford Racing’s virtually plug-and-play harness kit
However, RMD Garage took it upon themselves to get a new 302 and stuff it inside of this Ford ’56 F-100 truck. It’s the perfect use of modern technology with classic body styling making it one hell of a show truck, built up from the ground by CEO Ralph Holguin and his team at RMD. Ralph’s RMD group have their own full service in-house facility – from a paint booth to custom fabrication. Not once has the truck been sent off for work or has any outside help been used for this unique project.
Some of the goodies that have been installed on this fancy truck include a Tremec six-speed transmission, power front and rear disc brakes, power rack and pinion steering, a complete air ride suspension, an interior upholstered in red leather, power windows, solenoid operated doors, and a high end keyless system.
This fantastic Ford brought home “Truck of the Year” and “Best in Show” at the Grand National Roadster show, a reward for all of the hard work put into such a custom build, a build that captures the classic style yet drives like a brand new ride. Maybe because it practically is a brand new ’56 Ford show truck, and we think it rocks.
What do you think of this modernized classic?
