If you’ve been following our site for any length of time, then you know that we’re huge fans of the Pontiac Trans Am – even the “slow ones.” So whenever we have an opportunity to feature one, we fall in love all over again and the cars that Trans Am Specialties put together are no exception.
They’re experts of the Pontiac pony car, and market the only officially licensed re-bodied 5th-Generation version based from the current Camaro. They even produced a commercial for their Hurst T/A, getting thousands of hits from all over the world. We’ve featured a few of their modern T/A’s in the past, and we have to say that they are some of the nicest examples we’ve seen.
But now they have put together a brand new video for all of us to enjoy, and this one takes on a different perspective. Rather than simply talking about the new Trans Am, they take us inside their show, showing us what they do, and giving tons of eye candy to look at – including plenty of freshly-restored 2nd-Gen examples.
The company owner, Tom Warmack, prides himself on hiring only the best people possible, not just in the shop, but at his own dealership – those enthusiasts who truly know Trans Ams. Not only do they assemble these modern Trans Am conversions in-house, but they restore classic F-bodies to show-quality condition as well!
As Trans Am Specialists’ Rick Deiters says in closing, “The Trans Am is back!” With them building and selling new Trans Ams, along with restoring the classics from the ’60s, ’70s, and even ’80s, did the Trans Am ever really go away?
