Getting a new car at any stage of life is exciting, even if it’s just “new” to you. But what happens when your “new” car is 28 years old? Well, if it were anything like this brand new 1985 Iroc Z that was found still wrapped in its factory plastic inside a trailer with just 4.3 miles on it, we’d be surprised if you’d complain. Check out this crazy find in the video above.

While the video was uploaded a few years ago, it’s still an interesting feature. After all, the video shows what appears to be a hardly driven, practically brand new Iroc Z being unloaded off of a closed up semi trailer after years of being stored there. Why the car was stashed in an old semi trailer is beyond us, but if the original owner was looking to put it in a place for safe keeping, he did just that.

As expected, the car is covered in dust, entombing it in its pre-showroom prepped condition. That is, except for the original wheels, which oddly enough seem to be the only thing missing from the car.

With dealer stickers still in place and factory plastic still throughout the interior, having the wheels gone is odd but certainly not a deal-breaker for those avid Chevy collectors. As we found out from a Michigan Fbody Association forum post, the wheels were actually removed and sold years prior to the trailer being reopened to help fund a build for the car that never happened.

Once the car was unloaded and taken to a new home, it popped up on eBay in 2009, where bids reached over $20,000 for the car. Obviously someone was interested in this first-year Iroc “trailer find.”

From it’s eBay listing, the Iroc went on to be restored to its former glory. From there, we’re not sure where the car ended up but being a find like this, we have a feeling the car is living out its days with an avid collector or Chevy enthusiast.
