SEMA 2019: UEM Has LS Pistons To Cover Any Engine Build

If you’re trying to rebuild, hot rod, or create a high-horsepower LS Engine, United Engine & Machine Pistons (UEM) have slugs that will fit the bill for your application. UEM has different lines of pistons from mild to wild that can be used to make sure your LS engine will make plenty of reliable horsepower for both naturally aspirated and power-adder applications.

For those looking just to do a budget-friendly stock rebuild, UEM has its Silv-O-Lite pistons that are a direct replacement for the stock units. These pistons are available in a wide range of sizes up to 6.2-liters and are designed for specific VIN code applications for cars or trucks. The pistons feature a hard-anodized top and top-ring groove for longevity and extended ring life. The Silv-O-Lite pistons also come standard with UEM’s M42 anti-friction skirt coating.

If you’re trying to go a more radical route with your engine build, UEM’s ICON Forged Piston line is what you want to look at. According to Marko Glush from UME, these pistons step up the performance level and are designed to make some serious LS horsepower.

“Our LS FHR series is a street forging that works well with mild nitrous and boosted applications for a street car. These pistons are available for the 5.3-liter engine, all the way up to the 6.2-liter engine using a four-inch stroke. If you’re looking for more power, the Premium Series forgings are made of a 2618 alloy that’s very ductile and good at resisting detonation. These have fully machined valve pockets, come in a variety of sizes, and work well with high-boost applications.”
