All Systems Go: Holley’s LS Fest East 2020 Event Recap

While the COVID-19 pandemic might have taken its toll on LS Fest West in Las Vegas this year and canceled the event, Holley was determined to have LS Fest East in Bowling Green, Kentucky. We are happy to say not only was this event a go, but it also sold out to participants the day before the show opened. And like all of the other LS Fest shows before it, this event had something for everyone.

Drifting

The drifting competition this year offered a wide variety of vehicles. We saw everything from Corvettes, Nissans, BMWs, Fords, and even an old Chevrolet truck competing this year. When the smoke finally cleared, Dirk Stratton took first place in his C6 Corvette. Kyle Wood secured the second place win with his S13, and Jonathan “Cash” Hurst won third in his wild Infinity.

Burnout Contest

The burnout contest is always a fan favorite. Even with rain moving into the area, the spectators stayed to watch this wild event. With a variety of cars and trucks, the contestants put on a smoke-filled show. However, only one could take the win, and this year, it was none other than Jeremy Formato, owner for Faster Proms, that was crowned the Hoonigan Burnout Challenge winner. The supercharged Chevrolet Caprice PPV shredded the tires as the glowing exhaust system begged for mercy.

Autocross And Road Course

If you’re into twists and turns, the autocross is for you. This event host a plethora of cars, and the competition is always fierce. If you like a little more speed with your curves, participants can run the road course section called Track-X. This event takes place at the National Corvette Museum (NCM) race track.

Drag Racing

Drag racing is one of the more popular events at LS Fest and for a good reason. Here you get to see all kinds of makes and models blast down the drag strip. It’s man vs. machine in a no-holds-barred matchup to see who’s the fastest on the property. While Holley was able to get two rounds of qualifying in during Friday and Saturday, unfortunately, the drag racing portion was called off due to rain. Adam Preston was the number 1 qualifier in the Brian Tooley Stock Block class with a 4.513 et at 162.49 mph. For the Monster Clutch SS/Banger class, Randy Hammons took the number one spot with a 10.705 et at 148 mph. Matt Cole led the board in the Frankenstein LM Heads Up class with a 5.307 at 135 mph pass.
