The Dodge SRT-8 Challenger and Charger feature a formidable platform when equipped with the 392 cubic inch, 6.4L HEMI engine, and ProCharger recently released a killer P1-SC1 kit for the cars that boosts output by approximately 200 horsepower when custom-tuned at an 8PSI boost level.
In actuality, ProCharger has had a fitment for these cars since early 2011, but hacking into the HEMI’s engine computer proved difficult, so the kits were not released at that time.
Those days are over – because now ProCharger can offer the kit complete with a slick DiabloSport programmer to provide the proper engine tune. We know you’re chomping at the bit to get one onto your car, so here are the details.
Included in the kit are the aforementioned P1-SC1 supercharger, a sweet air-to-air intercooler that boasts ProCharger’s usual efficiency levels, and all of the hardware and brackets to make it bolt right on. The P1-SC1 offers self-contained oiling to go with the standard billet impeller and billet gearcase, making for a true bolt-on proposition.
On their test vehicle, ProCharger achieved 571 rear-wheel horses and 515 foot-pounds of torque with the 7 PSI bolt-on kit, and stresses that if you wish to exceed this boost level it is necessary to seek out that custom tuner that is equipped to properly tune the vehicle with the DiabloSport software.
