One of the best quotes that I ever read on a table coaster read, “Success is the best revenge.” With all of the endeavors our lives throw at us, whether it be a ground-up hot rod project or a more personal struggle, it seems like to best way to knock ’em out is to do exactly what this LS7-powered Camaro suggests, and seek vengeance.
“Mr. Totem,” the genius artist behind Ridelust’s new logo, is the owner of this LS7 engine-possesed, ’67 Camaro. But don’t be fooled; Totem’s Camaro is far more than just a street-worthy stoplight fighter. In fact, this particular Camaro is, without a doubt, one of the most well-rounded muscle cars out there, as it’s set up to do any kind of racing, from regular ‘ol road racing to autocross. And it makes sense, as Totem’s Camaro professes itself to be “one of the meanest looking pro-touring cars on the planet.”
The fact that Totem’s LS7 Camaro is capable of handling so well while harnessing so much flat-out horsepower is what makes the first-generation pony unique above all else. So often in the world of American muscle, we judge the performance of a muscle car by what it can do in the quarter-mile. “Mr. Totem’s” ’67 Camaro, the street beast that is “Vengeance,” on the other hand, is a car that returns to the kind of motorsport to which the Camaro is most-accustomed: the road course.
What makes “Vengeance” that much more vengeful, however, is that it’s a piece of old American muscle that proves it can keep-up with all of the “young guys” and their “newfangled gadgets,” but for years we lived in an automotive world where new platforms were said to be superior to the old; maybe that’s exactly why Ridelust’s “Mr. Totem” titled his LS7-powered fighter the way that he did.
