Just when America didn’t think that the limits of late-model performance could be pushed any further, Edelbrock steps-in to prove us all wrong. This time, they’ve developed a system of forced induction for the Mopars, making good use of Chrysler’s free-breathing, modern-day variant of the legendary HEMI.
Introducing Edelbrock’s all-new, E-Force supercharger kit configured specifically for 2006-11 HEMI motors. Based on their popular street applications, Edelbrock’s E-Force is stripped-down to only those parts/components that are needed for the track, while eliminating any of the unnecessary extras that most advanced street-racers like to tweak from default settings. According to Edelbrock, a 6.1 liter HEMI with their E-Force unit bolted-on can easily make 556bhp with 501 foot-pounds of torque, and of course this comes from a motor that doesn’t need the sky-high, 1.5:1 compression of yesteryear to do it.
According to Edelbrock’s E-Force page, the E-Force unit is for race use only, but with this much late-model power, we think it’s going to be more than a little hard to adhere to that standard. We already know that the HEMI motor itself is a legendary design because of it’s optimal headflow and, more than that, because of the cutting-edge nature of it’s hemispherical-shaped combustion chambers, but as electronic and forced-induction systems become more advanced, the performance industry is just now starting to realize the full potential of this lightweight, aluminum platform that has brought Dodge/Chrysler back to the top of the muscle car pyramid.
