100 General Lees to attend the 2011 Hazzard Homecoming

Friends, our 1980’s childhood hearts are shouting with joy; the Dukes are back! Well, the television show itself is not back, but according to a recent article in the Rappahannock News written by Cooter himself (aka. Ben Jones), a huge 2-day celebration called “Hazzard Homecoming” will be held in Sperryville, VA on Aug. 13-14 so that Dukes nerds everywhere can get their geek on.

The show will feature a large number of events that feature personal appearances by the cast of the show; country, bluegrass and gospel music, bicycle stunts, children’s activities, wrestling (yes, wresting), hot air balloon rides, a kid’s water slide, pony rides, and a fireworks extravaganza Saturday night. Of course, we believe that the real reason to attend is the two-day car show that will feature around 100 of the finest General Lee Charger clones in the world.

While the General Lee was the star of the Dukes TV show, several two-legged cast members will be present as well. Catherine Bach (Daisy Duke), James Best (Rosco P. Coltrane), Sonny Shroyer (Enos) and Rick Hurst (Cletus) will all be present both days. John Schneider, who played Bo Duke, will appear on Sunday. Gary and Craig Baxley, the super stunt men that made the General Lee fly, will be present both days. Tickets for the show are $15 for one day, or $20 for both days!

YEEEHAAA!
