With the quality of day-to-day reality these days, it is little wonder that a minor dip into fantasy is as refreshing as it is. To end your week a little upbeat, we found this fabulous sketch over at Ridelust and had to bring it to your attention.
Chrysler indeed faced a torrent of criticism from Charger enthusiasts when plans for a four-door resurrection were announced. The days, however, of the full-sized, two-door American hardtop are long gone (funny how the Germans are still making them, huh?) and Chrysler is not a company that can afford to gamble on a product line.
The funny thing is, that while the LX platform was a hand-me-down from Mercedez-Benz E-Class during the Daimler days, ‘Benz has no issues with selling a two-door hardt0p of their E-Series. So…what’s Chrysler’s hold up?
Purists may still argue that the current car is not a “Charger,” but it has been reasonably successful, whatever you call it. At least one of those purists convinced a highly competent Photoshop artist by the name of Casey, to have a go at the concept of a ’12 Charger Coupe.
The result, as you can see, is certainly something that would enhance the current Dodge lineup. We think that the SRT group would have a lot more fun with this version than the four-door. If the retro trend is coming to an end, here is the new beginning. It is a great thing that artists like this one have such a talent and are willing to freely share it.
