It was the most popular ponycar when new and remains so today. The Ford Mustang sold in massive numbers in the ’60s, became immensely popular with the restoration crowd, and now the restomod crowd has embraced Ford’s sporty car. Now QA1’s New 1965-’70 Mustang Suspension, which we are showing you here before anyone else, takes the driving experience of classic Mustangs to the modern era.

We’ve shown you plenty of goodies from QA1 before on StreetMuscleMag.com. This all-in-one package for Mustangs built through 1970 replaces the aging (and antiquated) factory suspension with a complete, modern system engineered for today’s performance expectations. QA1’s new 1965-’70 Mustang Suspension (called the Full Vehicle Handle Kit) delivers adjustable coilovers, tubular control arms, a rear 4-link, and a QA1 9-inch rear housing. Ultimately, it delivers improved stance, comfort, and cornering like no one could dream of six decades ago when these vehicles were new.

Let’s face it: Leaving your classic Mustang’s suspension stock is fine if you never plan to attack a corner in anger or exceed 75 mph on the highway. After that? Well, let’s just say technology has come a long way. Heck, even the Boss 302 lacked a rear sway bar from Dearborn.
The QA1 suspension system is built for enthusiasts who want to retain the soul of their classic Mustang while enjoying modern handling …

According to QA1, it is Ideal for street performance builders, Pro Touring and autocross drivers, and restomod enthusiasts seeking bold-on refinement and comfort.
The old factory suspension wasn’t designed for today’s power or tires. QA1’s modern geometry and tunable coilovers flatten cornering, improve traction, and smooth out the ride. Thanks to the adjustable coilovers, you can adjust your car’s ride for any driving style —its independent compression and rebound control lets you fine-tune your ride and handling from highway cruising to corner carving.

“This kit completely redefines how a classic Mustang drives. The feedback and balance you get out of this system make it feel decades newer,” says Damien Brase, QA1’s product manager.
Complete System In One Package
There are plenty of companies offering suspension components for early Mustangs, but not all of them have everything you need in a complete package. This can force you to buy front parts from one company and goodies for the rear from another. Often, these will not work together in harmony. Yes, they may be an improvement over stock, but the new components from QA1 were designed to perform together for maximum grip and performance.
The kit contains tubular upper and lower control arms, double-adjustable coilovers (18 settings), a front sway bar for improved roll control, a rear triangulated four-link suspension system, and QA1’s 9-inch rear housing rated to 800 horsepower.

“It’s not just a collection of parts — it’s a complete system, according to Jesse Coles, the director of Product Management at QA1. “Everything from geometry to shock tuning was designed to work together seamlessly.”
Easy Installation & Serviceability
Ease of installation is another benefit of this system. The front suspension bolts into the factory mounts. The rear brackets use self-fixturing weld-in designs for precision alignment, and the 9-inch housing includes drain/fill plugs, vent port, and a jack pad for simple maintenance.

As we noted earlier, this kit will be unveiled at the 2025 SEMA Show (booth 21357) and will be available for consumers shortly after that.
