TMI Products is one of those companies that seems to be everywhere in the classic and performance car hobby. From the coolest muscle cars at your local show to the awesome rides featured in their 2025 TRIM Road Tour, the company creates high-quality interior components for just about anything cool. Speaking of cool, that’s why we decided to stop by the TMI booth to see the unveiling of Trick Rides’ Scorched widebody carbon fiber Mustang.

It took us about 1.5 years to design the car and have all the CAD work done, and then it took us about five or six months to build the car. — Jarred Morris, Co-Owner of Trick Rides

A Trick Ride From Trick Rides

An Oklahoma-based shop that’s defined by a love for classic muscle cars and a dedication to cutting-edge technology, Trick Rides has created the first known fully carbon 1969 Mustang body engineered in CAD and refined for precise fitment with 3D scanning. In addition to improved aerodynamics, the pre-preg carbon fiber shell, created from carbon fiber fabric or composite that’s mixed with a measured amount of resin, increases the car’s rigidity and cuts a massive amount of weight.

The TMI Connection

Naturally, Trick Rides needed a world-class cockpit to match those world-class aesthetics, so they turned to TMI Products. In addition to new high-back buckets, TMI will fit all 20 of these special restomods with custom door panels, German weave carpet, a bespoke console, and an alcantara headliner. The interior is finished out with top-notch tech that includes an Alpine double DIN touchscreen head unit that controls a Kicker amp, a Kicker subwoofer, and Kicker speakers.

Fully Finished Muscle

The Scorched Mustang can be outfitted with three different engine options. The base powerplant is a 429 cubic inch Kaase Boss Nine, with customers also having the choice of either a supercharged 5.0-liter Coyote or a Ford Racing 427. Every one of those impressive V8s is backed by a TREMEC T56 Magnum six-speed. Stainless Works headers breathe through custom, three-inch exhaust that’s built around Borla mufflers.

That drivetrain rides in a full Roadster Shop chassis, which is finished with an independent front suspension, a four-link rear suspension, rack-and-pinion steering, and Fox coilover shocks. Stops are provided by 14-inch rotors, which get clamped by six-piston Baer calipers up front and four-piston Baer calipers out back. At the corners, three-piece Forgeline wheels spin aggressive Continental tires.

Blending the worlds of supercars and classic muscle, Trick Rides’ Scorched Mustang isn’t just another high-end restomod, it’s a look at what’s possible when cutting-edge engineering meets old-school soul. With its fully carbon fiber body, modern chassis, and a hand-finished TMI interior, this Ford is proof that the future of performance and design doesn’t have to abandon the past — it can build on it.
